The Coplay Fire Department is an all volunteer department serving the Borough of Coplay.

It is our mission to provide effective fire prevention, fire suppression, property protection and life safety services to the residents and visitors of our community.

 

We currently have over 30 active Volunteer members, including the Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, Assistant Chief, and Volunteer Firefighters.

Fire Suppression

No matter the type of fire emergency, we are always ready to respond. From commercial fire alarms to potential residential fire incidents, our team is fully prepared with two specialized fire suppression apparatus to handle the situation effectively. 

 

Engine 511
2010 KME Pumper which serves as our primary fire suppression vehicle. It carries 980 gallons of water, has a 1500 gpm pump and seats 6 personnel.

Rescue 541
2019 KME Rescue/Pumper serves as our primary truck for motor vehicle accidents and also can function fully as a fire suppression vehicle. It carries 750 gallons of water, has a 1500 gpm pump and seats 6 personnel. It also carries Hurst Rescue tools and a wide variety of other specialized equipment to perform a multitude of rescues on land and water.

 

Emergency Medical Services

 

We are a licensed Quick Response Service EMS Agency. Our department has first responder personnel and we can get help to you more efficiently. All of our personnel are trained in First Aid / CPR and we also have Emergency Medical Technicians that can be at the scene of an emergency and start patient care/contact before the ambulance arrives.

          Brush Fires / Wildfires

We have many members certified for brush fires. We respond with our 1997 Ford F350 Brush Truck. Our brush truck serves as our primary vehicle to handle brush fires. It carries 200 gallons of water, has a 325 gpm pump, and seats 6 personnel. Its small size allows it to easily access the Ironton Rail Trail and other tight areas.

What should I do in case of a fire emergency?
In case of a fire emergency, evacuate the building immediately and call 911. Do not attempt to put out the fire yourself.

How can I arrange a tour of the fire station for my group/organization?

You can request a tour of the fire station either by calling the station at 610-262-2005 or via email at coplayfd@hotmail.com. We will get back to you as soon as we can and will gladly set up a date and time for you to come to the station. We do kindly request at least 30 days advance notice.

What kind of jobs can I volunteer for?

There are many roles that can be filled at the fire station from driving the trucks, to putting the fires out or simply just helping out on the outside of a fire scene. Stop by the fire station for more information!
